About Justin
Justin Moor is the President/CEO of the Area Office on Aging. Justin is responsible for managing the Agency’s $38 million budget and working with the organization’s 200 staff, and network of over 200 provider organizations to help 30,000 older northwest Ohioans a year with living better and longer.
Some kids may dream of being an astronaut when they grow up, but in many ways, Justin has been preparing for this dream job for most of his life. Justin’s heart was formed at a young age for helping older adults with living better and longer. He grew up admiring the longevity and independence of his great grandpa, who lived to be 104 and lived independently in his own home until the last year of his life. He finds deep fulfillment in helping others to be like his great grandpa by living long lives that are as independent as possible. Justin believes aging is cool; everyone is doing it. He wants to help you do it well.
Over 22 years ago, Justin started working at an entry-level job at the Area Office on Aging and was promoted six times, most recently being elevated to the role of President/CEO. Under his leadership, the Agency has secured a competitive tax credit award valued at $11 million to build an a 52 unit affordable senior housing complex. The Agency has also secured $2.7 million to support the building of a new senior center on the first floor of the same building and to improve the walkability of the campus where this building is being developed. Justin led the efforts to redesign the Agency's Website. The redesigned website was selected as the best website for older adults nationwide, winning the National Mature Media Website Best of Show Award, beating out giants in the industry like AARP. Justin has been leading the efforts of elevating aging in the community with AARP recognizing Toledo and Lucas County as Age-Friendly Communities.
As an innovative leader in the field of aging, Justin has been a featured presenter at numerous national and statewide conferences and is featured regularly in local media outlets. Throughout his career, Justin has earned both local and national recognition, including receiving the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award, and earning two Aging Achievement and Innovation Awards from USAging.
He is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, and of Cleveland State University where he earned his Master of Public Administration degree. Justin serves on the Board of the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging and Direction Home LLC.
Justin is married to his high-school sweetheart and is the father of their four amazing children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and serving in his church, where he was ordained in the volunteer role as a Deacon in the Diocese of Toledo in 2017, becoming the youngest permanent Deacon in northwest Ohio.
